The Nomad is handsome 3 staged model rocket employing 24mm (C11, D12) first stage to help lift this large rocket off the pad with enough lift to assure safe altitude and speed for subsequent stages to take over. The overall light weight of this model ensures incredible altitudes even with the smallest 3 stage configuration.
Use of the largest motors in all stages will provide out of sight flights even on clear days. Be sure to have a 3 person tracking crew to follow all 3 stages back to earth!
The Nomad's 47.8" length allows the use of very small fins in the 2nd and 3rd stages so that you avoid the common problem of very massive fins in the 1st stage (a problem common in 3 stage models).
This helps keep drag down, promising greater altitude and also allows this model to be easily flown in 2 stage or even single stage configurations.
The unique configuration of this model provides for a transitioned 2nd stage (from BT60 to BT55) and is designed such that the 2nd and 3rd stage fins form a single fin, giving this model a "2-stage" appearance on the pad.
Streamer recovery of the upper stage, coupled with a shock line attached near the mid point of the model assures near field recovery in most situations. This kit also comes with a bright FlisKits 16" parachute to use if you have a large launch field or hard landing areas. Also, our 16" parachute has patterns on it to allow you to construct your parachute as a 12" or 8" instead, giving you a full range of choices!
